Raw Materials Reception and Washing Unit

MAIA Series™

The “MAIA Series™” module is intended for the reception of the raw material arriving from the crops and the first sanitization treatment. The module is built in stainless steel to ensure complete compatibility with both washing liquids and the raw material in direct contact. It is a pre-assembled module to limit assembly operations on site, optimizing installation times. The basic module is composed of a washing tank and a sorting table that can be reconfigurable based on the evolution of its production capacity over time.

The module is completed in terms of options already prepared and which can also be integrated at a later time:

  • Rivalta boxes or bins
  • Waste removal system
  • Treatment and transport water filtering system
  • System for removing foreign bodies present in the carrier fluid used
  • Barbotage system for the separation of foreign bodies trapped on the surface of the raw material
  • Pre-sorting peeling system

Enzymatic Pre-treatment Unit

THOR Series™

The “THOR Serie™” module is intended for pre-treatment for enzymatic inactivation. In the case of transformation linked to the tomato sector, the treatment is necessary to exploit the “Cold-break” and “Hot-break” technology. In the case of fruit processing, the treatment allows maximizing the yield in the subsequent extraction phase.

The raw material entering the module is shredded using a high impact speed rotary hammer mill. This crushing will facilitate the subsequent triggering of the enzymatic/peptide treatment necessary for the transformation process.

The dosing unit of the antioxidant solutions and possible acidity (pH) correction is composed of a polyethylene tank with dosing pump and a high-speed mixer.

The volumetric pump includes a collection hopper for the shredded product complete with level sensor to safeguard the operation of the pumping system.

The module is built in stainless steel to ensure complete compatibility with both the washing liquids in the C.I.P. phase, both with the raw material in direct contact. It is a pre-assembled module to limit assembly operations on site, optimizing installation times.

Enzyme Treatment Unit

KORE Series™

The “Kore Series™” module is intended for the actual enzymatic inactivation treatment necessary to exploit the “Cold-break” and “Hot-break” technology and to maximize production yield when working with fruit. Furthermore, the unit is used for the preparation of the caustic solution intended for the C.I.P. (Cleaning on site). The sanitization procedure takes place in semi-automatic mode under the direct control of the operator. The entire transport pipe will be sanitized with caustic solution and rinsed according to the quality standards indicated by the customer.

The module is built in stainless steel to ensure complete compatibility with both the washing liquids in the C.I.P. phase. both with the raw material in direct contact. It is a pre-assembled module to limit assembly operations on site, optimizing installation times.

The recovery of primary condensate (via a special integrated module) allows you to significantly reduce the consumption of treated water necessary for the production of process steam.

Finally, the product must reach the enzymatic inactivation block consisting of:

  • High flow recirculation system
  • Shell and tube heat exchangers powered by live steam
  • Atmospheric pressure process chamber
  • Product extraction system
    Self-supporting structure for transport and installation of the unit
  • Automatic thermoregulator for regulating the temperature of the product

This process is managed by on-board sensors and interfaced with the PLC controlling the reception area (Maia Serie™ + Thor Serie™ + Kore Serie™ and Athlaua Serie™ modules).

Juice & Pulp Extraction Unit

ATHLAUA Serie™

The “Athlaua Serie™” module is designed for the extraction of juice and pulp of the product treated with both “Cold-break” and “Hot-break” technology and with enzymes to maximize the extraction yield. The use of this form is necessary for the separation of seeds and peels from juice and pulp. The removal of waste (seeds and peels) occurs via an ergonomically and safely positioned screw conveyor system.

The module is built in stainless steel to ensure complete compatibility with both washing liquids and the raw material in direct contact. The enzymatic inactivation block, due to its configuration, is made up of:

  • Bearing structure in construction steel S235JRC – Fe360.B
  • Extraction chamber + stainless steel rotor with mirror polished surface finishes
  • Adjustable conical sieve to maximize extraction capacity
  • Buffer tank configurable based on the production capacities of the line

The extraction systems made with the “Jx-15 Series” turbo extractors are particularly suitable for the extraction and refining of fruit, vegetable or tomato juices treated with “Cold-break” & “Hot-break” technology.

The degree of refining can be varied by changing the size of the sieve holes, while the degree of juicing can be adjusted by reconfiguring the rotor blades relative to the sieve. This operation can also be performed with the machine moving.

The buffer tank for collecting the juice located in the lower part of the group is loaded by gravity. The internal volume is constantly monitored to guarantee maximum performance of the juice concentration unit (Cratos Serie™) and, at the same time, safeguard the pumping system that feeds the evaporator.
